Most student science projects die at the fair. A ribbon goes up, the project goes home, and that's it. TAPSS picks up where the fair leaves off.
Students design, test, and present original experiments. Chemistry, biology, physics, environmental science. They get real feedback from peers and mentors, learn to defend their methods, and leave knowing their work was judged on its merits.
Winning experiments don't stop at the fair table. TAPSS rebuilds the best ones into free kits that families can actually use at home. Each kit comes with materials, instructions, and the story of the student who created it.
TAPSS members volunteer in Austin schools and community spaces to run free workshops using the kits. Every workshop is student-led. No outside instructors. Just TAPSS members teaching what they know to the people around them.
Science Blitz is a browser-based science trivia game built by TAPSS students. It keeps the community engaged between events, brings in new participants, and helps fund the next round of kits and workshops. Free to play, no download needed. Play Science Blitz →

All four programs run by TAPSS students. No adult staff.
